ADS-TEC Energy Secures SWLB Battery Storage Contract in Germany

ADS-TEC Energy has been selected by Stadtwerke Ludwigsburg-Kornwestheim (SWLB) to supply a 5 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) for its biomass power plant in southern Germany. The BESS5000 system will assist SWLB with grid flexibility and enable participation in energy and ancillary service markets.

This deployment is part of a broader strategy to enhance decentralized storage within the European distribution grids market. ADS-TEC Energy will oversee the technical planning and secure necessary authorizations alongside the SCHNEPF Group, an engineering firm.

The project highlights the potential for decentralized storage to accommodate renewable energy, ease grid congestion, and improve stability. It also offers opportunities for recurring revenues through energy market participation, illustrating a scalable model for municipal utilities.
