ADS-TEC Energy and Elanga Launch Ultra-Fast Charging at Penske in Australia
ADS-TEC Energy, in partnership with Elanga, has installed a battery-buffered ultra-fast charger at Penske Automotive Group's dealership in Brighton, Australia. The new system significantly enhances charging capabilities despite limited grid capacity. Installation of the ChargePost system was completed in less than 24 hours, leading to a more than fivefold increase in charging power without costly grid expansion. The enhanced system delivered 281 kW power shortly after setup.
The project aims to provide faster vehicle charging during handovers, service visits, and demonstrations. The integrated battery storage offers high-power charging while maintaining the current grid connection. ADS-TEC Energy CEO Thomas Speidel emphasized the fit between Penske's high-performance vehicles and the charging technology.
This battery-buffered technology leverages a low grid input, boosting it to outputs up to 300 kW. The ChargePost system also features digital advertising displays and energy management functions, creating additional revenue streams and optimizing electricity costs without prolonged grid expansion.
