ABO Energy Adjusts 2025 Forecast Amid Market Challenges
ABO Energy GmbH & Co. KGaA has announced significant changes to its 2025 annual forecast. The company initially projected a consolidated net income between €29 million and €39 million, alongside a 5% to 30% increase in total output compared to 2024's €445.4 million. However, current assessments suggest a consolidated net loss of approximately €95 million and a reduced total output of €250 million for the year.
The adjustment arises from a particularly challenging market, highlighted by oversubscribed onshore wind auctions in Germany and reduced feed-in tariffs. These factors have postponed major wind projects to 2026 and necessitated special write-downs due to revaluations.
In response, ABO Energy is launching a comprehensive efficiency program and transitioning to an Independent Power Producer model to return to profitability by 2026, aided by a renowned consulting firm.
