10th Huawei ICT Competition Concludes with Record Participation
The 10th Huawei ICT Competition reached its conclusion in Shenzhen, with participants from 49 countries. This year's event attracted over 220,000 university students and faculty members from more than 2,000 institutions, marking it as the largest edition ever. Ultimately, 177 teams advanced to the Global Final.
Ritchie Peng, President of Huawei ICT Strategy, emphasized the competition's role in sustainable development and announced a new AI track for future editions. Dr. Shafika Isaacs from UNESCO praised the efforts, highlighting the importance of collaboration and education in AI.
The competition's Practice, Innovation, and Programming categories awarded teams from various countries, with the Algerian, Egyptian, and Chinese teams notably excelling. Special awards recognized women in technology and contributions to green development.
The event also featured an AI Summit and the launch of Huawei's ICT Academy AI Course, underscoring the growing demand for technological talent globally.
