Haselünne, June 22, 2020 - The Vivaris Getränke GmbH & Co. KG, a subsidiary of Berentzen-Gruppe Aktiengesellschaft, will not be continuing the current bottling order for an international beverage group from next year on. The previous business partner has informed the Berentzen Group about the termination of the cooperation on December 31, 2020. The background to this is internal structural measures in the area of its supply chain.
"We regret this decision taken", explains Oliver Schwegmann, member of the Executive Board of Berentzen-Gruppe Aktiengesellschaft, and continues: "At the same time, however, the end of this cooperation strengthens our resolve to continue to develop Vivaris into a strong manufacturer of branded goods with national ambitions and to end low-profit contract bottling business in the future". Vivaris' own brands, in particular the Mio Mio brand products and regional mineral waters, have shown an impressive momentum in sales and revenue development in recent years, he said.
The order for the filling of non-alcoholic beverages for its business partner most recently contributed around seven percent of annual consolidated revenues of the Berentzen Group. However, taking into account countermeasures to be taken and due to the comparatively weak earnings quality of the contract bottling business, the effect on adjusted consolidated earnings before interest and taxes (consolidated EBIT) for the financial years from 2021 onwards is expected to be of minor significance.
